realthog: (real copies!)

Just learned that my anthology New Writings in the Fantastic (2007, Pendragon Press) has been longlisted for a BFSA (Best Anthology category; http://www.britishfantasysociety.org/news/?p=300#more-300).

I'm obviously mighty gruntled -- but even more so that two of the stories therein have been nominated in the appropriate category.

Step forward to receive a big hand:

Kate Riedel, for "Song Cycle"

Paul Pinn, for "Borderline Charm"

Here's rootin' for you both!

Haven't heard of it at all, which is why I assume it's Brit...brb after I google.
It is American--out of Houston. Sorry I'd never heard of the book or I would have covered it for YBFH last year. Came out in December...It's gotten very little play over here.

Re: Best New Horror--perhaps not. It'll be interesting to see what wins.

WOWIE! They're reprinting Mitchell Smith's terrific prison novel STONE CITY. I've been raving about it since it was published in 1990.

That's ringing bells. I think I tripped over their website at some point and did quite a lot of chops-licking at the stuff on offer.
