anniversaries
Mar. 16th, 2009 05:56 pmI'm coming down the final straight on Bogus Science at the moment, doing the penultimate edits, rapidly writing some infills, etc., in preparation for the final edit (and massive trimming) that'll probably be done in time for me to deliver the text to the gasping publisher by mid-/late next week. The past few weeks have been exhausting. I am typing this with my eyeballs.
I don't really have time to post at all, but it's either this or another slack-jawed, semi-catatonic game of Spider Solitaire as I attempt to gather my strength for the next chunk of text . . . and, besides, some quite significant (at least for me) anniversaries will have come and gone by the time the book is done and dusted, and my natural streak of narcissistic, quasi-solipsistic self-indulgence insists that these should be publicly recorded.
[] Before the end of the month, Pam and I will have been officially married ten years.
[] The day after that, it'll be the 100th birthday of my late mother -- I always thought she'd make it into three figures, and perhaps pop across the Atlantic to celebrate the day with us, but no such luck.
[] Round about now, it's the second anniversary of my having given up smoking.
Hm. One of the cats may not, if I can identify the guilty party, live to see any of these anniversaries. I have just, yet again, found a neat little pile of turds on the bathroom mat. Now, where did I put the chainsaw . . .
