did you know that . . .?
Jan. 22nd, 2009 08:50 pmAs many as one billion frogs are being harvested from the wild for human consumption each year, according to a new study.
I've been advised that the edible frog is about 6in (15cm) long, so, if every one of those cute wickle fwoggies was holding onto the wickle footsies of the cute wickle fwoggy in fwont of it, the fwog chain so formed would reach nearly halfway to the moon. A decade's worth and we could use them to signal our presence to extraterrestrial civilizations.
Elsewhere in the article we discover that "Frogs are liquidised to make a 'health drink' in parts of South America". Myself I think this sounds a bit bland (frogs' legs taste like chicken, and I imagine a chicken-juice health drink would be no rousing mocha, like), but friend Todd Lockwood observed:
Yummm ... mm ... >blaaarghle<
Over to you, South American LJers, to inform me!
Meanwhile, I've been finishing the draft of the chunk for Bogus Science about modern geocentrism. Do you realize that we heliocentrists are agents of Satan? Did you know that not one single aspect of the post-Galilean balderdash has ever been proven? It all makes yer want to gulp, dunnit?
Just gulp, I mean. Not gulp some refreshing frog juice.
