Hugos discussed
Aug. 8th, 2008 08:39 amThere's a rare example of the mainstream media focusing on the Hugos in yesterday's Guardian books blog. The accent is on this being "a literary contest we [Brits] can win" -- which wasn't something that could have been so confidently claimed just a few years ago, when it seemed almost impossible for anyone other than US writers to win major Hugos in years when Worldcon was in the US . . . which meant, of course, most years. It's to the sf community's great credit that this has changed so radically.
The article itself is of fair interest; some of the comments more so.
