I've gotta confess I'd never heard of this Czech movie until coming across mention of it in an IMDB review of the Russian movie Rusalochka (1976):

A lovely, haunting film reminiscent of the Czech film THREE NUTS FOR CINDERELLA . . .

Off to Netflix I go.

What? Never seen Three Nuts? (sometimes called "Three Wishes for Cinderella")?

I envy you, because you're going to watch it now. :) It's a wonderful movie. We have a tradition to watch it on or around New Years. We also watch Morozko :)

Ah, the imd site said they were without.

I'm re-watching the films made in Poland of Sienkiewicz's 17th century trilogy.

I tried to get through Poland's first version of Sienkiewicz's Quo Vadis?> too, but as much as when I was in h.s. I cannot stand the Christianity of it all.
