realthog: (real copies!)

An interview with me by Jeff VanderMeer has just gone live at Clarkesworld. The focus is largely on my book Corrupted Science, but in my usual butterfly fashion I woffle on about all sorts of other subjects too.

There's a further small coverage on Jeff's own blog Ecstatic Days.

Excellent interview, Paul!

Interesting how we humans are hardwired to believe in something fantastic ---

CORRUPTED SCIENCE is terrific reading, and I'm looking forward to reading BOGUS SCIENCE. Especially if it deals with cryptozoology, anthropology, and earth science.

A book on "film noir"? Goodie.

Many thanks for the kind words, J. As I've said before, I'm glad you and yours are enjoying Corrupted SCience.

A book on "film noir"? Goodie.

It's funny how many people say they love film noir (pastorbear's another -- see below), yet a number of the publishers approached about this project (or, really, cluster of projects) have said it's "only a specialty interest" or "a genre subdivision too far". The disconnect is mind-numbing.

Absurd. Film noir is very popular. Always has been. I can't think of many people I know who don't like the genre.

I quite agree with [livejournal.com profile] sarcobatus, that it is a very popular genre. I think those who think it is a specialty interest don't really know what they are talking about. Harrumph.

Hot diggity!

I will go and read once I've finished that thing I'm doing now (which isn't this -- LJ -- coz I'm shutting this down right now!).

Love, C.

Hm. Have you ever wondered what cold diggity must be like?

Film Noir-- excellent!

And did you see that someone commented that your photo reminded him of Karl Marx??

Great, great interview! Well done, you, as always!

Thanks for the kind words, K!

And did you see that someone commented that your photo reminded him of Karl Marx??

Better, I suppose, than the comment a couple of other photos have elicited: that I look like God.

Okay. How about a compromise: you look like Zeus, or Thor, or whoever it was who tossed electric darts. ;)

They've actually seen God? Wow, interesting folks you hang around with.

But I think it is a good thing that people (some people) think you look God-like. Oh dear, having said that, I know that you will now be unbearable to be around! Poor Pam! Someone should warn her! LOL
