On May 30th, Rush Limbaugh said he had heard a rumor that a tape exists of Michelle Obama using the word “Whitey” from the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ.

Truth:

No such tape exists. Michelle Obama has not spoken from the pulpit at Trinity and has not used that word.

Blogger Larry Johnson wrote on May 31st that he would add “New and dramatic developments. This is a heads up. I’ll post the news Monday morning by 0900 hours. Now I know why people who have seen the videotape say it is stunning. Barack’s headaches are only starting.”

Proven GOP sleazemeister Roger Stone said on Fox News on June 1st that “there's a buzz, which I believe now to be credible, that some indelible record exists” of a tape of Michelle Obama using the term “whitey.”

Truth:

Stone conceded on June 2nd that he hasn’t met anyone who has seen the tape and that it therefore may be a hoax.

Did you read (In the Telegraph, no less) about the Fox newsanchor E.D. Hill who made an offhand comment that the touching of fists that Michelle and Barack did on his winning night was a "terrorist fist jab."

Huh?

She got fired. No, I mean, she got taken off the air. Probably for a couple of minutes anyway.

Yup, Brianna is out of the hospital and back home in Denver. Most of the fever and pain has gone away, still a little bleeding. But she's going to get on a plane on Monday and come see me! Hurrah! (I couldn't go there because of work.) But, yeah! She's doing much better!

Yes, she was taken off air for a full several minutes. It boggles the mind that she can continue to be employed in any journalistic capacity whatsoever. If you were at a party and someone started coming out with the "terrorist fist jab" notion you'd assume they were either (a) nuts or (b) smashed. Yet Hill is being paid -- and paid healthily! -- to utter such tripe as if it were wise punditry.

Are SERIOUS?! I am gobsmacked. I thought it would be a few days, anyway, not a few minutes. This is so grotesque, in my opinion. It is absolute tripe, as you said. I wish I could do more than just email my complaints (which I did) and not watch it. GRRRRRRRR
