something for your favourite teen

I learned something from my friend Neil Greenberg today and, with his permission, I'm passing it along:
All of the teens you know have a drawer in their mind labeled "How can I look irresistible to a college?" Here's a great answer. Julia and Gail had an amazing success putting together a charity event at Julia's high school called SWAP. It leverages the vast supply of clothes teen girls pile up, and it helps kids who have been abused. Go to http://DoTheSwap.org/ for info.
Why would kids want to spend time doing this project? In addition to being fun, brief (3 months) and having a lot of social value, the project teaches leadership and entrepreneurship. We also interviewed college admissions people and discovered they'd consider being a SWAP Founder or Team Member to be a WOW on a college application and might even get a student a merit scholarship.
We all know people with teenagers. Here's an opportunity to use your superpowers to get word of the SWAP and these links to any teenagers or their parents.
Another link to an info sheet that gives an overview: http://dotheswap.org/downloads/SWAP-Info-Sheet.pdf
THANK YOU SO MUCH for being a hero to a teenager or their parent. If their child gets a merit scholarship out of this, I think they should AT LEAST take you to dinner!
Sounds a good move to me.
