Here's this morning's headline, just arrived in my mailbox from the Tea Party-supporting World Nuts Daily:

Who cares if it's false? Who cares if it's six murdered people they're lying about?

Somewhere below the scum at the bottom of the barrel is where you'll find the people who write this sort of stuff.

That anyone is defending what happened is just appalling.

They're not defending the episode so much as trying to make political capital out of the claim that all the violence they've been inciting has nothing to do with them. It's an infantile kind of ducking of responsibility -- coming, of course, from the very people whose constantly proclaimed credo is that everyone should show a bit of personal responsibility.

Of course, that instruction applies to the poor and underprivileged, not to fatcat editors of the WorldNutsDaily and their ilk.
