Our pals at Nutsmax.com have dug up a searing tale to startle even mashed potatoes right off their couch:

Palin Taken Aback by Obama 'Superpower' Remark

Sunday, 18 Apr 2010 07:55 AM

Sarah Palin criticized President Barack Obama on Saturday for saying America is a military superpower "whether we like it or not," saying she was taken aback by his comment.

"I would hope that our leaders in Washington, D.C., understand we like to be a dominant superpower," the former Alaska governor said.

It would be news if our former vice-presidential candidate took the time to contribute something to our public discourse and hence to the welfare of the country she professes to love. That she persists in uttering this kind of vapid, destructive tripe is not, however -- whatever Nutsmax.com might care to pretend -- news: it is just more noise.

is Sarah Palin moronic or does she just act that way?

I'm merely asking the question, you'll note.

That reminds of the archaeologist who wrote a long paper explaining that coin hoards are buried. In the ground. Under the earth. You know, buried.

Yep, but the head of the editor of the journal which published the paper really needs to be examined as well -- perhaps even more so.

Palin's a moron, but what on earth made the buffoons at Nutsmax think this was newsworthy?

Said archaeologist was the editor -- it was in a collection of papers of which he was chief cook and bottle washer, and the publisher wasn't a specialist house.
But indeed, the news source...

Said archaeologist was the editor

Then it's a wonder he didn't publish the article twice, one after the other.

I don't understand why people listen to someone who is obviously just talking to fill the empty space in her own head.

Because the media loves her, you can't escape her.

Because the media loves her, you can't escape her.

Very much like Paris Hilton, in fact . . . except that, when Hilton comes out with some piece of airhead nonsense, the media (aside from the celeb/gossip tabloids) pay no heed. The Nutsmax report was based on an Associated Press original, fer gawd's sake.

And as I note above, the big conundrum is why Nutsmax should think such a vapid piece of inanity qualifies to be their headline news.

Living up to their name? I'm not familiar with the publication.

I'm not familiar with the publication.

It's a familiar (if childish) nickname for the "news" service that calls itself Newsmax.com.

See? They can't even get their own name right!
