There's a very witty yet sour T.S. Eliot quote on the front of the ARC I'm reading of Elise Blackwell's September 2007 novel Grub (so far dead good, by the way; I'm chuckling a lot):
Some editors are failed writers, but so are most writers.
I assume he made the remark in his capacity as Faber & Faber editor rather than poet, but who knows? Either way, it's given me something extra to think about while soaking in the bath, etc.
