That may be true, but Wicker's move is just a political game.
A deeper question is why Repugnicans keep trying to ban things they don't like. I mean, I hate going to the dentist, but I have more sense than to mount campaigns to try to get dentists banned. And, while I have no desire to enter a gay relationship, let alone a gay marriage, it seems to me a complete non sequitur to use this as a "rationale" for trying to stop other people from doing so.
