I looked but wilted. Maybe because I kinda think I knew this a long time ago before the neocon editor of the NY Times Magazine would admit it.
Neocons have a big blind spot at recognizing how the world has been steadily moving ahead technologically and productively, while we, well, we haven't merely stood still, we've slipped backwards.
I think that is part of the platform of ignorance, or refusal to see, from which the whole stupid Iraq invasion was launched. They thought they were dealing with people who don't have telephones, computers, and know how to use them. Guess what suckers? They do, and they do it far better than you do, even sitting in a cave. That stuff allows them to sit in caves and still be in the middle of everything. And with GoreTex and other great camping gear, they are even comfy.
