The 2011 BBC Proms have started!

An early highlight for me is the performance Sunday night of Havergal Brian's monstrous Symphony #1 "The Gothic"; I imagine this is going to get played quite a lot on the BBC iPlayer while I'm indexing Denying Science next week. The symphony is about 1hr 40min long and requires about 1000 players and singers, so for obvious reasons it's not often performed.
