out of their own mouths they condemn themselves

Here's this morning's headline, just arrived in my mailbox from the Tea Party-supporting World Nuts Daily:

WorldNetDaily.com

Arizona assassin's politics lean 'left wing, quite liberal'
"The Communist Manifesto" and Hitler's "Mein Kampf" were among the favorite reading materials of Jared Lee Loughner, the suspected gunmen in today's fatal shooting that reportedly left six dead and gravely injured a U.S. congresswoman.
Read the latest now on WND.com.

Who cares if it's false? Who cares if it's six murdered people they're lying about?

Somewhere below the scum at the bottom of the barrel is where you'll find the people who write this sort of stuff.

Well, it's well known that all liberals love a bit of Mein Kampf with their tea and biscuits.

Ah, yes, that explains why I have a copy of Mein Kampf. Because I agree with the bits that describe me as inferior.

You've got to remember that these are the people who simultaneously call Obama both a Nazi and a Communist. Critical thinking is not their forte.

I wonder how Fox News is going to interpret the words of the Pima County Sheriff speaking about the unnamed radio announcers spreading vitriol and making these situations happen. It sure ain't Arianna Huffington.

They'll find a way to blame Barack Obama.

Well, of course. It's a Government plot, isn't it, to make all the Tea Partyers look bad.

What a cool site!

It is, isn't it?

They'll find a way to blame Barack Obama.

You can bet they will.

Faux News is apparently filled with wingnuts gushing about what a wonderful person Giffords is and how much they all love her. I'm not sure if this gushery extends to Sarah Palin, who as we all know on her site marked Giffords' with a crosshair as one to whom she soon hoped to say "Gotcha!"

That anyone is defending what happened is just appalling.

[identity profile] realthog.livejournal.com 2011-01-09 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)

They're not defending the episode so much as trying to make political capital out of the claim that all the violence they've been inciting has nothing to do with them. It's an infantile kind of ducking of responsibility -- coming, of course, from the very people whose constantly proclaimed credo is that everyone should show a bit of personal responsibility.

Of course, that instruction applies to the poor and underprivileged, not to fatcat editors of the WorldNutsDaily and their ilk.
