By the way, for some reason there's currently a delay of hours if not days between people leaving comments on this blog and my receiving the customary e-mail notifications. Comments left for me on other people's LJ blogs, by contrast, seem to be coming through fairly promptly, in the usual way. Is anyone else experiencing similar difficulties?
no subject
Apparently. I had one yesterday that took hours to come through. I don't many comments now (I forward my posts to Facebook and most of my former LJ commenters now read them there).

I vaguely remember there was a problem like this a few months/year ago, and tyhat it suddenly cleared up. But I don't recall it lasting for as long as this one seems to be doing.

You mean you haven't seen that 10,000-word essay on transcendental meditation in the 17th century I left on your LJ the other day? Well, shame! A work of scholarship the like of which has not been seen since, er, since . . .

Doric Greek.
'Ere! I used to know her! Lovely lass, was Doric.
Not very tall, though. That's why people called her Little Doric . . .

My notification of this comment of yours has just arrived at 7.45pm on Wednesday 9/12/'09!
no subject
Yeah, me too on the emailing of comments. I've just been cruising my posts, seeing if the number has changed.

You've made me realize I should have listed the stories in order of authors' real names . . .

It's a wonderful month for congratulations, isn't it?
Especially when I keep getting them twice over!

Yes, LJ notifications have trickled or ceased altogether for me.

It has, hasn't it? *looks nauseatingly smug*

Yes. I'm looking forward to getting my mitts on this one.

but seem to be completely unable to write a story that fits
It is very hard indeed to know what Mike's going to like; his tastes are a bit more complex than those of many other editors.

They're beginning to come through in dribs and drabs -- and they're still working through days-old comments. The nuisance is, of course, that one has to open each and every e-mail notification just in case there's a comment in among them that one hasn't seen before.
