The story appears to be that she held three meetings where she floated banning books, the librarian objected, she tried to intimidate and dismiss librarian, local power brokers stepped in and got the sp an administrator, because she was already involved with other disputes, and there was a strong movement to start the process of recall on her as mayor.
So the local power brokers got together with the state power brokers and they ran her for governor.
