a quotation

There's a very witty yet sour T.S. Eliot quote on the front of the ARC I'm reading  of Elise Blackwell's September 2007 novel Grub (so far dead good, by the way; I'm chuckling a lot):

Some editors are failed writers, but so are most writers.

I assume he made the remark in his capacity as Faber & Faber editor rather than poet, but who knows? Either way, it's given me something extra to think about while soaking in the bath, etc.

Loved GRUB, it's my favorite present to all my friends at the moment - who doesn't aspire to write a book and let's be honest most don't have as much to say as Eliot nor Blackwell, so I hope they pick-up on the subtle hint...
