What wonderfully courageous people we live among.
Think what bravery it took to strap down a defenseless lunatic and inject him with poison. (Ve voss only following orderz.)
Think of the amazing courage of VA Gov Tim Kaine in sending a madman to his death.
The Supreme Court? Wow. The greatest courage of all. Hell, the legal case was clear: no one but a sane person would think it a good idea to doctor the back of a car so they could snipe at random at civilians in DC. Heavens-to-Betsy, that's the kind of thing sane people do all the time.

Who, to be honest, is the more nuts here? It's hard to tell. But I can damn' well tell who's the more deserving of punishment.

It stinks.
That sums it up completely, really. Only a morally bankrupt nation could countenance it.

It's sickening. And yet you'll hear self-proclaimedly pious people around here proclaiming that execution is a moral duty that makes us shine more radiantly in the light of the Lamb (etc.).

You bet. There are plenty of things about this adopted country of mine that require a strong stomach (amid many good things, of course), but the pietistic unctuousness in order to justify the killing of other human beings takes some beating.
