oh to be in Bristol now that Spring is here . . .

The excellent booktrade newsletter book2book (booktrade.info) has the story:

Thousands of people descended on a Bristol warehouse in search of free books after a major Amazon supplier left the premises with millions of titles inside.

Bookbarn, the UK's largest used book warehouse, moved out of the 56,000 square metre premises after their lease expired. The company had been at the warehouse for about three or four years and managers of the site invited people to help themselves so it could be cleared.

*sigh*

"My to-be-read bookcase barely supports the book weight anymore."

You have just the one?

LOL

I have an entire TBR STORE.

Yes, just the one bookcase. Five shelves... double-stacked high, double-stacked deep. I've calculated even in my fast reading years that it would take me years to get through them. And as such my wife is starting to limit me. Since I ran out of space I now have to take books off the shelves before I can put more on.

Sadly I still buy new books. I buy them new. And sometimes just put them on the shelf to be read later... which means they won't be new by the time I read them. *grin*

"Yes, just the one bookcase. Five shelves"

Your problem is minor. I have three of those in the bedroom alone, plus piles on the floor that'd fill one or two more. Then there are sort of lairs of further to-be-read books elsewhere in the house . . .

"And as such my wife is starting to limit me"

Fortunately Pam has to-be-read problems of her own, so her tongue is perforce tied, heh heh.

On this subject, anyway . . .
