They were finally able to get a result (England won) through reducing the England innings to a 20-over knockabout and calculating the target using Duckworth-Roe (or whatever it's called). It all sounds to have been absolutely dire until the last few overs, when Pietersen, Shah and especially Flintoff had a bit of fun, the latter desperate to get the thing over with before the heavens opened yet again.
I have sympathies for my pal Cameron, who was all excited the other day when someone gave him a ticket for the game. Unless he decided to heed the forecasters and stay at home, he must have had a miserable time of it . . . or, come to think of it, maybe he just got merrily smashed in the corporate tent!
