To quote the Beeb:

A taped comedy routine by Alec Baldwin that was to open the [Emmy] ceremony has been cut because it contained a joke about the News Corp phone-hacking scandal.

News Corp owns Fox, which is broadcasting the awards. Fox called the joke inappropriate, the Associated Press reported.

It's a good bit of wondering, y'know. I wonder if anything like The Daily Show or Real Time with Bill Maher, both of which pan FAUX on a regular basis, got Emmys this year?
