Limbaugh supports dining room table
Right-wingers whom I know keep saying the trouble with the healthcare furore is that the rest of us should grow up and stop with the name-calling and discourteously unsettling identification of dangerous fruitbats, and instead make efforts -- as, although they mysteriously fail to mention this, the President has been doing since January -- to establish a dialogue.

Further to my post here, Rush Limbaugh responded to Barney Frank on his radio show:
I think it's fabulous and fantastic, and hilarious that a woman shows up at a Barney Frank town hall meeting with an Obama-as-Hitler poster and this Nazi stuff, in his district. I mean, this is unreal.
But the killer for me was, here's Barney Frank saying, "What planet do you live on?" to this woman. Isn't it an established fact that Barney Frank himself spends of his time living around Uranus?
Wow. Two varieties of hate speech -- anti-Semitism and homophobia -- for the price of one! Quickly, establish a dialogue with that, someone.
(Incidentally, the other day Limbaugh described Nancy Pelosi as "deranged" because she said fruitbats were turning up at these town hall meetings with swastikas and other Nazi paraphernalia. It seems the fat man's memory is short.)

I'm honestly surprised more Republicans don't cry "foul" about so much of the stuff their stormtroopers and shock jocks come out with; instead, they insist the rest of us should be apologizing for Barney Frank's "put-down" of this obnoxious, brainwashed, venomous little turd (as any objective analysis would describe her).
It occurred to me last night as I was falling asleep that a significant difference between the left and the right in this country is that the left call their own extremists on excesses while the right remain acquiescent about theirs. This capacity of the left for honesty and fair play is regarded by the right as "weakness", and they capitalize upon it.

I mean, why can't we talk about things like "How does this affect the deficit?" and "Let's make sure the private insurers that are doing their jobs aren't the ones that lose customers?" and "What is the purpose of insurance in the first place?"
I don't even know if it's that the Right has no argument or if theyjust want people to run around screaming and carrying Hitler signs because it's good politicial theater. If that's the case, they are evil evil evil people.

Precisely. A few weeks ago, Obama observed pointedly to some media hack who'd been questioning his temerity in rocking the boat a teensy bit that the Dems had, let us not forget, won the election. I wish Obama would repeat this often, and a lot more loudly, so that not just the media but his own party would get it into their heads.
